Vaikuntha Ekadashi: Ekadashi has its own significance among all the Bhagawan Vishnu devotees. People observe fast on each Ekadasi and offer prayers to Lord Sri Hari. Vaikunta Ekadashi which falls on the 11th day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margazhi/Dhanurmasam, i.e. January 2, 2024.

Ekadashi tithi begins on January 1, 2024, at 7.11 pm and ends on January 2, 2024, at 8.23 pm.
Vaikuntha Ekadashi Significance
According to the Hindu scriptures, the churning of the Ocean (Sagara Mathana) was performed on the auspicious day of Vaikunta Ekadashi. During the Sagar Mathan, divine nectar emerged from the ocean and was distributed among the gods. So, Hindus believe that the people who die on this auspicious day attain moksha and reach the abode of Lord Vishnu or Vaikunta Dhaam. In some regions, this day is also called Bheeshma Ekadashi as Bheeshma died on this sacred day.
Vaikuntha Ekadashi Puja Rituals
- Wake up very early in the morning and have a holy bath
- Offer prayers to god
- Offer garland, flowers, and Nivedyam to the deity
- Keep fasting on this auspicious day
- Recite Vishnu Sahasranamam, Sri Hari Stotram, etc
- Break the fast on Dwadashi Tithi by having only Satvik meal
