Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli was arrested by Bandra police on Sunday for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and ramming into another vehicle. Subsequently, he was released on bail.
The car that Vinod Kambli hit on Sunday afternoon belonged to Tejaswini Pawar, who is the wife of another former cricketer Ramesh Pawar.
Confirming the incident, DCP Manjunath (Zone IX) said, “He was driving his car in a drunken state. He has been arrested and the further investigation is being completed by the Bandra police station”.
Police said Kambli, after hitting the parked car inside his residential building at Jewel apartment near Bandra rammed his vehicle into the compound wall of the building.
The police then took him to Bandra police station following which he was sent for the medical examination and found that he was driving under the alcohol influence.
