Children who are aged between 15-18 can sign up with the Cowin platform on January 1. The government announced this on Monday.
To register, children were allowed to use their ID cards as students if they do not possess Aadhaar and other identification documents, Cowin platform Chief Dr RS Sharma told ANI.
This announcement is given by Prime Minister Modi in Christmas speech in which he announced that children from the 15-18 age bracket would soon be part of the national vaccination campaign. PM Modi also announced a new ‘precautionary (or booster) dose to healthcare workers, frontline employees, and people over 60 with comorbidities.
Sharma has also confirmed it was his first dose of precautionary from the covid vaccine. Covid vaccination is scheduled to be administered to over 60 years old who have had the second vaccine dosage nine months before registering in the third. The procedure for registration is precisely identical, he added.
The first batch of vaccinated people who will receive the preventive vaccine had their second dose before April of this year.
