Early life
Jay Shah was born on September 22, 1988, to Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Shah and Sonal Shah. Nirma University awarded him a B.Tech degree.
Career
Jay Shah was a director at Temple Enterprise, which was created in 2004 and traded agricultural products. In October 2016, Temple Enterprise ceased operations. Jay Shah owns a 60% share in Kusum Finserve, which was founded in 2015. Shah was appointed joint secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) in September 2013 after serving as an executive board member of the Central Board of Cricket, Ahmedabad, since 2009. During his term as joint secretary, he oversaw the development of the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad with his father Amit Shah, who was the GCA president at the time.
In 2015, Shah joined the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) financial and marketing committees. Four years later, he resigned as GCA joint secretary and was elected as BCCI Secretary for a one-and-a-half-year term, making him the youngest of the five office bearers. In December 2019, the BCCI appointed him as its delegate to future International Cricket Council CEC meetings. Shah was later appointed President of the Asian Cricket Council in January 2024.
Personal Life
In a traditional Gujarati ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other high-ranking officials, Shah married Rishita Patel, his college girlfriend.
